The GardenMart is an approved vendor with Ocean Grove Charter School and offers educational opportunities for children in the community, homeschooled or not.
*Ocean Grove families: Please submit your service PO at least a week before you plan on attending.

CA State Flower

Learn about California's beautiful state flower and why it has become a symbol of the Golden State. Students will discover the insects and pollinators it supports, learn how to grow and care for it, and plant their own California poppy to take home and enjoy.

Discover the amazing plants that invite nature's "good bugs" into the garden to help keep harmful pests under control. Through hands-on activities, students will learn how these garden heroes work together to create a healthier, more balanced landscape and will take home a plant to start their own beneficial bug garden.

This class introduces children to the amazing plants that support bees, butterflies, and other important pollinators. Through hands-on planting and simple gardening activities, students will learn how they can help nature while taking home a plant to care for and enjoy.

Bats: Nature's Nighttime Heroes

Bats are much more than spooky nighttime creatures—they play an important role in healthy gardens and ecosystems. In this class, students will discover how bats help with pollination and natural pest control, learn about the bat species found in the United
States and Northern California, and explore the plants that attract these fascinating nighttime visitors.

Thyme Through the Garden

Discover the versatility of thyme by exploring the differences between culinary and ornamental varieties. Students will compare several fragrant thyme cultivars using their senses, learn an easy propagation technique, and create a beautiful living thyme planter to take home.
